The Toro Company celebrated Earth Day by giving away low-flow spray irrigation nozzles at an event near their Riverside, California headquarters. The purpose of the event, called “Earth Night in the Garden,” was to educate the public about the importance of water efficiency; it was sponsored by the Western Municipal Water District. Several Inland Empire cities and water districts participated.
Toro did the giveaway to publicize their Internet program, www.FreeSprinklerNozzles.com. It provides homeowners free vouchers to exchange high-flow sprinkler spray nozzles for low-flow models. Toro representatives demonstrated how the low-flow spray nozzles allow users’ irrigation systems to apply water 35 percent more slowly and evenly than conventional ones. Homeowners who qualify can receive 25 of the Toro’s Precision Spray Nozzles for free.
