When investigators from the Florida Department of Financial Services Fraud Division conducted an investigation of Botanica Landscaping in West Palm Beach, Florida, they arrested twelve people. They were charged with using fraudulent Social Security numbers to get jobs with the company.

Investigators say they checked the Social Security and ID numbers used by the workers, and it did not match their records. They found that a large number of workers there were using fraudulent social security numbers that were either fictitious or assigned by the U.S. Social Security Administration to another person.

All twelve suspects were booked into the Palm Beach County jail and charged with using false IDs and identity theft.
