Word on the street is that The Brickman Group is about to acquire ValleyCrest Landscape Companies.  If this merger is approved, not only by the two companies, but by the government as well, it will create the largest landscape company in the U.S.

The combined business would have revenues in the $1.8 billion range annually, and will employ more than 20,000 people.

The Brickman Group was acquired by KK&R about mid-year 2013, for approximately $1.6 billion. In 2006, MSD Capital, owned by Michael Dell’s family, purchased a majority ownership of ValleyCrest; the Sperber family holds the remaining stock. At that time, ValleyCrest Landscape Companies was valued at $675 million. It is rumored that KK&R will pay about $1 billion for ValleyCrest.
