As the old saying goes, “Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.” But sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do. When a resident of Harris County, Texas, was attacked for his wallet, however, he didn’t have a knife or a gun. So to defend himself, he brandished the only thing he had: his lawnmower.

According to authorities, the victim was mowing his lawn when a man charged him with a gun and began demanding his wallet. When the robber pulled a pistol and started shooting, the victim used his lawnmower to defend himself.

After the scuffle, the gunman ran back to his car and fled the scene. The victim, 56, was shot, but his wounds were non-life threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and released soon after.

Harris County investigators believe the alleged gunman may be responsible for other aggravated robberies in the area.
