Husqvarna Professional Products, Inc. is discontinuing its Dixon brand of mowers and tractors in North America, according to a recent announcement. The phase-out is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. International markets are not affected at this time.
Husqvarna will, however, continue to provide service parts and honor warranty claims for Dixon products for an extended amount of time. The company will also manufacture and market similar equipment under the Husqvarna brand.
The decision is being made to reduce operational complexity, improve efficiency and give additional focus to Husqvarna’s customer base, according to its vice president of Dealer Sales, Jeff Dewosky.
The company doesn’t expect the decision to affect its finances. It also won’t require any job cuts.
