The Department of Justice suspects there are 111 victims nationwide.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice filed multiple counts of theft in a business setting in Waukesha County Circuit Court against Matthew D. Erickson of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, according to the Journal Sentinel.

Erickson is accused of running a scheme that involved people, many of them senior citizens, who paid in advance for snow removal services that were never delivered.

DOJ suspects 28 victims in Wisconsin and 111 victims nationwide.

The Journal Sentinel reported that Erickson is charged with two felony and three misdemeanor counts of theft in a business setting and the felony counts each carry a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine and six years in prison.
