Known as the granddaddy of the landscape lighting market, Bill Locklin passed away yesterday (12-18-07). He was 86 years old. Locklin was the leading figure who created the low-voltage market single-handedly.

A former electrical contractor, he established the Nightscape brand of low-voltage outdoor lighting for landscapes. He had a passion for what he designed and developed and loved to demonstrate it to contractors. Locklin was always interested in making sure the contractor was involved in installing outdoor low-voltage lights.

He is survived by his wife Lavesta. He will be sorely missed.
