Scag Power Equipment announces the appointment of John Crowson as president of the company, effective March 1, 2008. Crowson is a 23-year veteran of the outdoor power equipment industry, joining Scag in 1992 as national sales & marketing manager. He holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Southern Illinois University, and a masters degree in finance from the University of St. Thomas.

As president of Scag Power Equipment, Crowson succeeds Jerry Bailey, who is retiring after a distinguished thirty-four year career with Metalcraft of Mayville and Scag Power Equipment. Bailey expressed his confidence in the new Scag leadership, saying, “The latest personnel changes at Scag Power Equipment will continue to guide the company down the road of success that it has enjoyed for years and will serve Scag Power Equipment and their distributors well into the future.”

The mission of Scag Power Equipment, according to Crowson, “is to continue to build on our strength in the market by providing products and service that are second to none.” Shortly after the announcement of his appointment, Crowson promoted two employees, stating that these appointments will add even greater strength to the Scag Management Team.

Chris Frame was announced as the new director of marketing and technical services. Frame joined Scag in 1996 as assistant manager of Scag’s technical services department. He is now responsible for the activities of both the marketing and technical service groups.

Dennis Opalacz was promoted to national sales manager. Opalacz joined Scag in 2006 as a regional sales manager with responsibility for Scag distributor sales in the central United States. He is now responsible for the supervision of three Scag regional sales managers and the general sales efforts to Scag distributors nationwide.
