Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition

Winners of Rain Bird’s 2012 Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition were picked recently at a final screening event in Beverly Hills, California. The event was hosted by environmental documentary filmmaker, Jack Hanna.

At the event, six finalists showed their films to a live audience, and to a panel of judges that included industry representatives from media, film, entertainment and water management. The $10,000 Jury Award winner was Greg Harriott’s film, Isla Urbana, and the $5,000 Audience Choice Award went to The Wash, by Carla Dauden.

“All finalists should be congratulated for their outstanding film submissions that we hope will not only extend awareness of this important issue but also continue to encourage the important discussion of ways to better manage and efficiently utilize earth’s most precious resource,” said Rain Bird’s Corporate Marketing Director Dave Johnson.

This is the fifth year of Rain Bird’s Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition. It was designed to encourage filmmakers to explore methods and ideas that responsibly manage water.
