Tips to quickly spot (and fix) 6 irrigation system problems
Irrigation system problems are often visible before conducting a formal irrigation audit. We’ve compiled some of the prevelant issues that can be easily identified during a walk-through and how to solve them.
Verify proper nozzle pattern or arc adjustment.
Install a pressure regulator in individual sprinklers or at the zone valve.
Indicates a missing nozzle or cracked or broken riser.
Raise the sprinkler and pack dry soil around the body of the sprinkler.
Flooded valve box
Could indicate a leaking valve, or a cracked or broken fitting/pipe nearby; if not reduce run time and frequency.
Reset sprinkler to be plumb and at proper grade.
