The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America welcomes Richard Konzem as its new chief operating officer. Konzem has more than 30 years of managerial experience, backed by a Masters degree in athletics administration.

As a member of the executive team, Konzem will oversee a wide range of departments and projects. He will also be responsible for developing, implementing and executing member programs that support the association’s vision and operational goals.

Konzem worked as the senior associate athletic director at Rockhurst University, where he supervised all aspects of operations, before being selected by the GCSAA. Prior to that, he served in a variety of capacities at USC for 23 years.

He is set to officially begin his duties as COO on October 17th, 2011.
