A landscape contractor in Fort Oglethorpe, Tennessee, was forced to close his doors--at least temporarily--after thieves broke into his yard and made off with his truck and 16-foot trailer. The stolen goods were valued at $35,000. The contractor was away on vacation when the theft occurred.

Tire tracks indicated that the Xtreme Lawn Care truck left the property under its own power, as opposed to being towed. The owner was baffled by this, since he had all the keys with him in Florida. Police speculate that the truck may have been hotwired. They don’t believe the theft was done by anyone in the owner’s family, or any of his employees.

The firm is insured, but insurance will not take care of all his losses.
