Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply, Phoenix, has teamed up with Audubon International, Troy, New York, to present the Water & Sustainability Innovation Award.
A post on the Ewing website notes that landscape and irrigation professionals play an important role in responsible water management solutions by creating projects that look great and serve people well, all while saving water. The award is a way to showcase landscape projects and other green spaces that exemplify these kinds of sustainable practices.
“We know the great work landscape companies, communities and other organizations are doing to create more sustainable communities and use water efficiently. Now we want to help celebrate what they’ve accomplished with some well-deserved recognition,” says Warren Gorowitz, Ewing's vice president of Sustainability.
The award will honor a landscaping company, organization or municipality with a project that:
- Uses sustainable water practices
- Promotes a healthy environment, enhances quality of life, or helps create a vital economy
- Was initiated within the past three years and operational for at least one year
