Houston Engineering Inc., Fargo, North Dakota, has hired Josh Johnson, PLA, ASLA, to lead the company’s landscape architecture services for all locations. He has more than 20 years of design and project management experience working in both the public and private sectors. His experience spans a wide variety of projects from master planning and land use plans to commercial site design and includes client representation throughout the many stages of the approval process.
He will be based in the Sioux Falls office. Combining landscape architecture with civil engineering components, Johnson helps clients create places that are not only functional but aesthetic.
“Josh's expertise and previous project experience, along with his client service and management expertise, is a great addition to HEI’s team and naturally complements our expanding planning service sector,” states Jeff LeDoux, president and CEO. “Part of HEI’s mission is to continue to adapt and evolve in our ever-changing industry. By adding Josh’s skillset to our team, we’ll be able to provide clients with a complete suite of services to help them with their projects from start to finish.”
Johnson grew up in Spring Valley, Minnesota, and attended North Dakota State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental design and bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. After graduation, he started his career with firms in Rochester, Minnesota, then continued his experience working in Huntsville, Alabama, for about five years until recently relocating to Sioux Falls. Johnson has worked as a landscape architect and project manager for numerous projects throughout South Dakota and Minnesota and is a registered Professional Landscape Architect in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Alabama with licensure in South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin coming soon.
