The International Erosion Control Association Region One, Aurora, Colorado, board of directors and staff welcomes Samantha Roe, IOM, as the new executive director of the association.
“We’re excited to announce Samantha as the new executive director to take our association in a new direction,” says Tom Schneider, CPESC, IECA president. “IECA is looking to expand our value to our membership, develop an initiative to attract a younger audience and continue to expand our importance in both the local and international markets. We were impressed with Samantha’s experience in developing chapter strategies to deliver enhanced member value on a regional scale. Samantha has the experience to lead IECA to reach our goal of better serving current and future members.”
Roe has extensive experience in chapter management and membership development. From restructuring, redesigning and implementing strategic programs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington to overseeing chapter relations and their service to local members of the Financial Planning Association’s 93 chapters, Roe brings a depth of knowledge that brings value to IECA, according to the association.
In her most recent position with the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, Roe enhanced member onboarding and retention, restructured committees to tackle initiatives that affect the mining industry and increased international membership.
Schneider says Roe’s “familiarity, experience and commitment to association operations combined with her background in relevant industry disciplines will empower the association to grow members and enhance our ability to meet the evolving needs of partners. We have the best staff in the industry and Samantha’s leadership will complement the overall value of our membership.”
