While the beginning of December is typically a time when people begin preparing for the holiday season, thousands ofirrigation professionals will be spending the first week of the month at the Irrigation Show and Education Conference in Long Beach, California, hosted by the Fairfax, Virginia-based . The IA geared up for this year’s Irrigation Show with a countdown of the top six reasons why people attend the show each year. Here they are:
#6: It’s all about the people
The Irrigation Show gives people in the irrigation industry the opportunity to network with customers, suppliers and industry peers all under one roof. Three-hundred exhibitors and nearly 5,000 people are expected to attend the 2018 trade show.
#5: There’s no better place to learn
The education conference portion of the event hosts over 25 classes on various irrigation topics, seminars, learning labs and dozens of technical program presentations. Whether attendees were industry veterans or show rookies, there is something relevant for everyone.
#4: Tons of professional development opportunities
The IA offers the opportunity for irrigation professionals to become certified at the show. The association offers eight different certification exams in both landscape and agricultural irrigation, including the certified irrigation technician exam in Spanish.
#3: Events for everyone
The Irrigation Show offers tons of events that allow irrigation professionals to network and connect with peers. Two of the most popular events are the Young Professionals Breakfast and the Women in Irrigation Social. This year’s keynote speaker is Mark Eaton, the 7-foot-4-inch tall NBA All-Star and team building expert.
#2: Innovation and technology
In addition to discovering products on the trade show floor, attendees will have access to the industry’s latest technologies and innovations at the new product contest. Winners in the following categories will be announced at the general session on Dec. 6: agriculture irrigation, golf irrigation, landscape irrigation, landscape lighting and the specialty category.
#1: Celebrate the industry
The IA’s final and number one reason to attend the Irrigation Show is to celebrate the industry. There’s nothing better than industry colleagues reuniting and attendees being able to meet irrigation professionals from around the world. Being together under one roof, people will celebrate the work done in the past year in the industry and look to the future of what is yet to come.
