Wisconsin business owners make $60,000 donation during company holiday party.

Ronald McDonald House, Madison, Wisconsin

A Madison, Wisconsin, Weed Man franchise decided to embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season. The Kurth family, which owns the branch of Weed Man Lawn Care that services Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota and northern Illinois. What started out as a $10,000 check presentation from Andy Kurth to Ronald McDonald House during the company’s holiday party in Wisconsin Dells, quickly grew, according to an article on Channel3000.com.

The representative from the Ronald McDonald House there to receive the check, Mary Donahue, asked the crowd to raise their hand if they had someone in their lives who had been to the Ronald McDonald House and 10 employees raised their hands.

That’s when Kurth's parents told Donahue they wanted to donate an additional $50,000. The timing was perfect for the donation as the Madison, Wisconsin, RMH is undergoing renovations.

The charity provides services and a “home-away-from-home” for families while a child they love receives treatment at area hospitals.
