The $2,500 award was announced at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition.

Alyssa Brown, a senior at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, has been awarded the 2019 John Deere Landscape Industry Scholarship. The award was announced at the 2019 National Collegiate Landscape Competition held at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. The competition was hosted by the National Association of Landscape Professionals, Fairfax, Virginia.

During the NALP Foundation Scholarship Awards reception, Brown received the $2,500 check which will be used to further her education.

“Alyssa is a rising leader in the landscape industry, and we are excited to name her as our 2019 scholarship winner,” says Ken Taylor, corporate sales manager, John Deere, Moline, Illinois. “With a passion for teaching and a love of environmental science, Alyssa is already a champion for the landscape industry, and we look forward to seeing her reach her educational goals.”

Brown, the captain of the BYU team, is majoring in landscape management and plans to pursue a graduate degree in environmental science. 2019 is her fourth year of participating in the NCLC.
