Employees from YardApes Inc, a New Milford, Connecticut-based landscaping company, recently completed a host of projects at no charge to nonprofits in the community. The company says it is part of its biannual tradition to perform these types of projects at no charge.
According to an article in the News Times, 38 employees helped out with various projects, including rehabilitating a yurt at Pratt Nature Center, planting four new trees at Northville Elementary School, beautifying Merryall Center for the Arts, re-seeding and removed invasive vines at Clover Ridge Animal Sanctuary and cleaning the area surrounding the Tunnel Road portion of Steep Rock Association.
“Serving the community in this way is personally and professionally gratifying,” YardApes owner Shayne Newman said in a press release quoted in the article. “The employees and the volunteers who donate their time to step up and help are deeply appreciated. I look forward to both service days each year because they are opportunities to come together as a group, enjoy the great outdoors, and simply do something good for several nonprofits in our area.”
Newman was featured January 2018 issue of Irrigation & Green Industry. Click here to read the article.
