It’s still unknown exactly how the worker came into contact with a live power line.

A tree trimmer in Sebastian, Florida was killed when he was electrocuted by a live power line, according to a story posted on TCPalm.

Pablo O’Campo Bustamante, 41, of Vero Beach made contact with a live power line while landscaping, the Sebastian Police Department said in a news release.

Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke of Indian River County Fire Rescue says in the story that medical personnel arrived and turned off the power with the help of Florida Power & Light workers. However, Bustamante was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after their arrival.

Exactly how Bustamante made contact with the power line is unknown, Kofke says.

The incident is under investigation.

This tragedy serves as another reminder to green industry crew leaders and workers to maintain the utmost caution when working around power transmission lines.
