The Irrigation Association, Fairfax, Virginia, is encouraging students at two- and four-year institutions of higher learning who are interested in irrigation careers to apply for its 2020 scholarship program. The annual program provides meaningful financial support to worthy candidates pursuing irrigation-related degrees and awards several scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500.
Applications are due by Feb. 15, 2020. Applicants will be notified of their status by the beginning of April.
To be eligible for an IA scholarship, a student must:
- be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate at a U.S. technical or vocational school, community college, university or similar institution of higher learning with a graduation date of December 2020 or later;
- be a U.S. citizen;
- have taken or be currently enrolled in a class with an irrigation-related curriculum;
- have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale;
- be able to demonstrate financial need.
