Katie Dubow, president and owner of Garden Media Group, will talk about upcoming horticultural trends for 2021 and beyond in her keynote at this year’s Farwest Show, which takes place Aug. 26-28 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.
Dubow’s keynote, which kicks off the event at 11 a.m. Aug. 26, will cover some of the information covered in the forthcoming 2021 Garden Trends Report, to be released in July. Garden Media Group has researched and published the report annually since 2001.
“This trends report examines shifts in everything from eating habits to growing habits,” Dubow says. “We’re never going to fully disconnect from technology, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Technology can help us reconnect with nature.”
Dubow will discuss new garden trends, touching on what professionals from wholesale growers to independent garden center owners can expect in the next decade. She’ll gauge possible impacts to the green industry and suggest ways that companies can position themselves to meet customers’ needs in the next year and beyond.
“We’re thrilled to have Katie back at Farwest,” says Allan Niemi, director of events at the Oregon Association of Nurseries. “Her insights on upcoming trends are beneficial for potential growth in all sectors of our industry.”
Garden Media Group offers information about trends in a variety of formats, including the annual report, a whitepaper and a YouTube series. Dubow was named president and owner of the group Jan. 1, taking over for her mother, Suzi McCoy.
