In light of ongoing developments with COVID-19, the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals board of directors has made the difficult decision to cancel Illuminate 2021 that was to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, Feb. 18-19. The association says this decision was not made lightly and the safety of its members continues to be its top concern.
In an effort to keep everyone engaged, a condensed version of conference will be held virtually Feb. 18 from 12:00-6:00 p.m. Eastern. Panel discussions, Landscape Lighting Award announcements, AOLP’s annual business meeting and a virtual happy hour will give attendees the opportunity to get the latest updates on association business, connect with each other and take advantage of industry-specific education.
Current registrations for Illuminate ‘21 will be transferred to Illuminate ‘22 which will be held Feb. 17-18, 2022, in Scottsdale, Arizona. No additional registration is needed. During the annual business meeting at the virtual conference, results of the board election will be announced. Voting will take place virtually before the conference. The deadline for nominations for board positions has been extended to Jan. 25. If you are interested in serving on the board or know of someone who is interested, please complete this nomination form and return it to AOLP headquarters. All nominees must be current members of AOLP in good standing. All nominees will also need to complete this board application form. The deadline to receive both forms is January 25, 2021. There are two positions available in 2021. Current board members may seek re-election.
The Certified Low Voltage Lighting Technician exam scheduled for Feb. 17 is also canceled, and registration fees will be refunded. Those who were registered will receive a separate email communication. The Certified Outdoor Lighting Designer years two and three programs will be offered virtually.
