He will bolster project delivery and technical excellence in New York’s water and wastewater market.

Environmental engineering and construction firm Brown and Caldwell, Walnut Creek, California, announced the promotion of vice president Sachin Gajwani to New York City operations leader.

A licensed professional engineer with a master’s in civil engineering, Gajwani joined the firm in 2020, bringing more than two decades of water and wastewater engineering experience in the public and private sectors. He has delivered numerous high-profile, multi-million-dollar projects in New York in various technical and leadership roles. Notable projects include the design and construction of large-scale water resources components, major wastewater treatment plant upgrades, and resiliency preparedness and planning improvements at water and wastewater facilities.

As operations leader, Gajwani will align the firm’s technical resources for successful project execution to help clients meet complex environmental challenges and do more with less. He will oversee the development of Brown and Caldwell’s New York City client relationships and direct key pursuits for market growth. Gajwani will manage the hiring and advancement of top talent to meet market and customer needs as the firm continues its New York and Northeast expansion.

“Sachin has a proven background of delivering highly technical projects that positively impact clients’ long-term goals,” says Lauren Fahnestock, Brown and Caldwell northeast leader. “This new role will elevate our New York City offering as we partner with utilities to improve the communities where we live, work and play.”
