Antonio Jakes has been named the new Southeast regional communications manager for Honda, Acura, and Honda Power Equipment. He replaces Davis Adams, who left Honda late last year. In his new role, Jakes is responsible for cultivating understanding for Honda Power Equipment products, Honda Marine outboards, as well as the Honda and Acura car brands. He brings a high level of creativity and energy in telling the Honda story, bridging the worlds of outdoor power products and automotive technology through traditional and wide-ranging social media channels.
Jakes comes to his new position at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. from Hyundai Motor America, where he served as both an analyst for regional sales operations and regional warranty and consumer relations. Jakes has previously held several roles at the Nissan Motor Corporation, including national press fleet manager, and dealer support specialist for Nissan Extended Services. He began his communications career as a social media and internet sales manager for Greenville Nissan in Greenville, North Carolina. For the past decade, Jakes also has served the automotive industry as a writer and editor, frequently contributing and sharing content across social networks via The Green Light, a blog he founded in 2011 that offers the latest automotive news, new vehicle reviews, and interviews with industry experts.
