The announcement was made at GIE+Expo 2019.

DFD Loaders Inc., Coral Springs, Florida, the exclusive U.S. distributor of compact wheel loaders manufactured by Schäffer Maschinenfabrik GmbH, Erwitte, Germany, has announced that it will begin establishing a dealer network throughout the U.S. beginning in 2020 and is now welcoming inquiries. DFD made the announcement at GIE+Expo 2019.

It’s only fitting that DFD chose that setting to break the news. DFD used last years’ GIE+Expo to reveal its partnership with the German equipment company.

Schäffer is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of compact and telescopic articulated wheel loaders in Europe, and boasts a 63-year history of innovation in that market segment. Its construction equipment is distributed in nearly 50 countries.

Since its inception, DFD's long-term U.S. distribution strategy included an initial period of direct-to-consumer sales. The company did this in order to gain direct insight into the fast-growing market for compact articulated wheel loaders in the U.S.

“When we began to research the market, some of the most consistent feedback was that a fast rollout of dealers had hurt other brands’ ability to keep up with the market’s demand for parts and service,” said David Font, president and CEO of DFD Loaders. “In addition, this strategy had created dealer networks with inadequate knowledge of those products. This was never an option for the Schäffer brand, known all over the world for exceptional white-glove level service."

Schäffer's U.S. product lineup meets EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards. Its loaders are compatible with most skid steer attachments currently on the market due to their universal quick-connect headstock which comes standard.

DFD’s product lineup includes 16 loader models ranging in size and power capacity from 25 to 157 HP. They’re designed for use in the landscape, tree care, snow removal and property maintenance industries, among others.
